Account for all vaccines

Providers are accountable for all VFC vaccines upon receipt and must be able to provide documentation to support usage and current inventory.  Locations report accountability numbers with each vaccine order. Providers may be held financially responsible for dose-for-dose replacement of VFC vaccines that they cannot account for or that were spoiled or expired due to provider negligence.

Participate in site visits

Providers must allow scheduled compliance visits and unannounced storage & handling visits from CDPH representatives. Site visits are educational opportunities designed to improve compliance with the VFC Program and thereby improve patient immunization levels. The Provider of Record or Designee and all key practice staff responsible for vaccine management and administration must be present.
